2022 and 2023 brides, trust us when we say you’re in for a real treat with the bridalwear beauties that we’re currently unboxing at The Little Pearl from our fabulous designers.
So far this year, we’ve had new arrivals from Stella York, Abella Bridal and WToo, which, along with the recent Rachel Rose Believe collection, are hitting all the biggest bridalwear trends for 2022.
As always, we’re seeing some popular styles remaining strong for another season, classic bridalwear looks getting a contemporary glow-up, and, of course, brand new style-led wedding dress trends emerging that are sure to get your fashion-loving hearts pumping!
So, to bring you bang up to date with what’s hot on the aisle right now, we’re taking a look at some of the top bridalwear trends for 2022 whilst revealing some of our favourite new arrivals here at The Little Pearl.

TOP BRIDALWEAR TRENDS FOR 2022
Modern Ballgowns - As mentioned, from season to season, we’ll see traditional bridal dress shapes getting a contemporary overhaul, and in 2022 it’s the turn of the much-loved ballgown. Its strong resurgence is said to be down to those brides who had to postpone their plans wanting to embrace the full bride experience now they’re free to take to the aisle. Modern updates on this princess classic include pared-back designs in rich, luxe fabrics with sultry touches, such as high leg splits, drop shoulder straps and deep necklines. There are also light, ethereal tulle designs with playful layered skirts and modern floral embroidery detailing.
Feminine Florals & Lace - The ‘girl next door’ pretty big day look is another classic bridalwear trend that is staying firmly put for 2022. These styles of gowns vary in shape - from voluminous A-lines to slimline column dresses - but all embody flirty feminine touches such as floral detailing, beautiful lace panels and flowing trains. In 2022 we’re seeing more romantic boho influences, which may well be a result of the rise in outdoor weddings post-pandemic.
Party Showstoppers - Another top 2022 bridalwear trend said to be influenced by breaking free from those low-key lockdown times is a surge in demand for flamboyant party-style wedding dresses. We’re talking head-turning designs featuring bold embellishment, head-to-toe sparkle, feather trims or statement sleeves.
Minimalist Luxe - At the other end of the bridal style spectrum, minimalist wedding dress designs are also big news for the season ahead. These are pared-back, clean-cut gowns in plain, luxurious fabrics, such as rich crepe and satin. The look is modern and understated whether opting for a regal ballgown or slimline design, but brides can choose to add something extra in their choice of accessories. Think statement earrings, a bold floral headband or cathedral length, detailed veil.
Bridgerton Regency - The hit Bridgerton TV show has certainly made its mark on the wedding industry, sparking a rise in pastel blue colour schemes, trailing wisteria, vintage china decor and Regency-inspired gowns. Influences in bridalwear can be found in square necklines, empire waistlines, puff sleeves and beautiful corsetry for an altogether regal big day look.
Sexy Silhouettes - The call for slinky and figure-hugging wedding dresses remains another big bridalwear trend for 2022. We love flirty backless designs as well as those with thigh-high leg splits, plunging necklines and cut-out or sheer peek-a-boo panels. Of course, it’s about getting the balance right between daring and demure to achieve just the right level of bridal sexiness.

All about those aforementioned ‘girl next door’ classic vibes, those of you attracted to pretty feminine bridal looks are likely to fall head over heels for Stella York’s new Endless Romance collection. Style 7457 is a beautiful sheath style wedding dress with lace bodice and full train which features enchanting leaf-inspired and floral motifs. Meanwhile, styles 7216 (also available in curve) and 7407 both offer sweetness and sexiness with sheer elements adorned with delicate floral detailing. Meanwhile, for ballgown-seeking brides, it doesn’t get much more romantic than style 7398, featuring delicate patterns of swirling floral embroidery and shimmering beading embellishment.

Abella Bridal
Elegant and chic with an element of understated drama, Abella Bridal is the dream designer for those of you who crave something that bit different for your big day. The 2022 spring collection is nothing short of sensational and we’re so excited about the latest Abella gowns arriving at the boutique. These include the spectacular Lise (also available in curve), a pearlescent Mikado ballgown silhouette, finished with sparkling off-shoulder straps, perfectly fitting the minimalist luxe trend. So too does Carmen (also available in curve), a pared-back, figure-hugging, strapless gown with dramatic angled neckline. The amazing Giselle would have to be another top pick of ours purely for its full-on party vibes. Featuring opulent beadwork, art deco motifs and plunging neckline, this is a bridal showstopper…and then some!

Full of style and romance, WToo collections embody everything a fashion-conscious bride could wish for…and its latest Tropical Blooms collection is no exception. New arrival LeeLee is a modern ballgown masterpiece with contemporary floral motifs trailing across its structured bodice and trickling down its voluminous tulle skirt. The fit and flare Calvin gown is equally captivating with fairytale flowers cascading from bust to skirt, plus a modern plunge neckline and the dreamiest puff sleeves adding a subtle sassy edge.
